Strains -

A strain is when a muscle, tendon or ligament has been overloaded or over excercised.

Massage will relax the tight muscles and drain any fluids and therefore reduce swelling. ...it helps the tissue repair and restores function. Also, resting the injury is advisable and, if swollen, ice the affected area.

It is helpful to apply a bandage for support and elevate.
