Sprains -
A sprain is considerably more painful than a strain and will often be impossible to
exercise with. This is where muscles, tendons or ligaments have been stretched severely.
Massage is used to manipulate the muscles and maintain a good bloodflow to the affected
area thereby stimulating the healing process; allowing you to take up your normal routine
much quicker.
The following applies:
- rest the injury
- ice to reduce swelling
- compress to provide support
- elevate to stop fluid build up around the injury site
